The roles
Depending on the position, your responsibilities may include:
- Reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications
- Measuring, setting out and cutting materials accurately
- Constructing and installing wall frames, floor structures and roof framing
- Installing doors, door frames, skirting boards, architraves and other finishing timberwork
- Completing internal fit-out and finishing carpentry
- Installing fixtures, fittings and hardware
- Checking alignment, levels and finished work for accuracy
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area
About you
- Australian carpentry trade qualification or equivalent international qualification
- For UK and Irish applicants: a relevant City & Guilds, NVQ or equivalent qualification in carpentry and joinery
- Relevant post-apprenticeship experience
- Experience in first fix and/or second fix carpentry on residential or commercial projects
- Ability to read drawings and work accurately to specifications
- Strong attention to detail and pride in the quality of your work
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to safe work practices
- Australian construction White Card, or willingness to obtain one before commencing work
